Relax. Open the terminal and use lsof. It will produce a long list of processes and the files they are using. So, do a little grep filter by citing a word from the file that refuses to be deleted:

lsof | grep somewordromyourfile

Once you find the offending proc, just kill it off.

What an interesting tool Google Translate has become. Now it dynamically translates as you type. Instant Translation in Google parlance. Various name and verb forms are listed. So, not only you don’t need to submit a form to seek a translation, you also get many other related matches without asking for it. A translator’s dream, bringing us yet another inch closer to Babelfish.

People who are interested in non-Latin languages will also love the phonetical spelling: You can just type things in Latin and Google Translate will offer you the closest matches. When dealing with Arabic-to-English, As Google helpfully tips, type marhaban and it will instantly be spelled as “مرحبا”. Psst: Mrhban works too. No idea why that’s not available for Russian. People think it’s easy to write “трудный”? Does it even look easy?

According to the Guardian, these may well be the last days of the United Kingdom.

If the prospect of an all-out confrontation with the rest of the EU is unsettling to middle of the road opinion, the end of the UK is much more so. What do you call the country that remains? It isn’t England, quite, because there is also Wales. Does it stay a Diminished Britain, a Little Britain, whose flag is a simple spider of red lines on white?

For a country that has historically invested so much time and energy on dividing, weakening, taming, balancing, destroying other countries, that may be an apt end. Yet, say what you want about the English, they will handle the end of their own empire with an air of dignified resignation. There will be no (serious) calls for national unity, no conspiracy theories about foreign powers destroying the UK, nothing. Note how easily they effectively let go of Northern Ireland. And I support “Little Britain” for the name of the new England.

via Cameron could well be the last ever UK prime minister | Jackie Ashley | Comment is free | The Guardian .
